When SELC approached us about a new website, they were facing several challenges with their existing site: it was cumbersome to manage, mobile accessibility was difficult, and the outdated design didn't reflect their brand's inspired vision and the increased dynamism of their work. We began our work with them by outlining a new, user-friendly yet flexible, information architecture for the content. This new site structure led the way for user interface wireframes which detailed the on-page content structure, navigation, and usability. Following this, we created several unique design concepts to explore the new website's aesthetic. These design concepts were vetted and refined until one creative direction was approved, providing guidance for the entire design system.

Upon final approval of the design, Visual Chefs - our development partner, turned our design system into responsive HTML templates which were implemented on ExpressionEngine for easy content management. The responsive nature of the new Southern Environmental Law Center website allows the design to adjust and provide every user the best experience, no matter what device they use (e.g., Desktop, laptop, tablet, phone, etc).

Homepage Design

The homepage of the new website highlights several key stories and high important cases along with special announcements and press releases. One of the major design goals for this page was to feature their photography as it relates to the states and cases they are working to protect.

Alternate Design Concepts

In an effort to determine the creative direction for the new website, we designed several unique concepts which explored the content priorities in different aesthetics.

Real Client Review

Antistatic brought a wealth of knowledge and talent to our website redesign project. At first, SELC hired Antistatic based on their impressive portfolio and stellar recommendations. Along the way, we were impressed yet again by the professional and good-natured working relationship and the quick grasp of SELC’s brand and mission. The result—a beautiful, user-friendly, responsive website that will serve as a vital tool for the organization.
