It’s time for a new website, or is it?

We can grow tired of things pretty quickly. That pair of shoes you bought last summer, or the car you’ve been driving for several years. They become too familiar to us.

The same is true of your website. We see or interact with it all the time and can grow tired of the way it looks, the navigation, the features, the content…etc. When you feel this happening in yourself or your organization, it is critical that you take a step back and assess the website from your audience’s point of view. What do they think, how do they feel about it. From here you can gather analytics and look for clues in the data. Hold focus groups or sent out a survey asking for pointed feedback. Not the things that are working as well as the weaknessess.

You may find that all you need is a website refresh and not a full website redesign. A refresh is just that - the introduction of new, fresh ideas and treatments to the website. Kinda like a fresh coat of paint on the walls of your office - and maybe a few little upgrades thrown in for good measure. It could be a simple as changing the navigation structure, updating the typography, colors or it could be an updated design system while the core functionality and elements of the site remain the same.

Not sure which approach is right for you or where to get started? We’re here to help.
